Dr. Kevin Badii
Founder, President & CEO
Dr. Kevin Badii is a strategy-driven, business developer, and entrepreneur with high-level success in the start up, establishment, and ongoing development of the multi-million dollar companies offering nearly every oral healthcare service, product, specialty, and sub-specialty recognized by the ADA. A skilled executive leader, he has extensive experience managing all aspects of operations development, strategy creation, revenue improvement, product/program progress, finance/budget oversight, process improvements, and mergers and acquisitions activity.
Currently, Dr. Badii serves as President & CEO of Compass Dental Management Group. Dr. Badii is also the Founder, Chairman, President & CEO of OC Smile Dental & Orthodontics, a premier multi-location Large Group practice headquartered in Orange County, California.
Previously, Dr. Badii served as Founder, Chairman, President & CEO of Smile Wide and Smile Wide Enterprises. Smile Wide Enterprises is the Dental Services Organization (DSO) and business platform created to successfully operate the 6 different affiliated professional corporations under the Smile Wide umbrella. Dr. Badii directed the progression of infrastructure of the organization to promote continuous growth while overseeing back-end business support systems that included operations, practice development, accounting & finance, marketing/advertising/PR, HR, customer support/service, IT/EHR, procurement, collections, credentialing services, insurance & risk, quality assurance, legal, real estate/facility management, supplier/vendor relations, M&A, affiliations, and data analytics. Under his leadership, the entire Smile Wide organization grew to include 23 full-service oral healthcare locations, 1 corporate DSO headquarters, over 200 FT employees, over 60 FT dentists/dental specialists, and over ‘8-figures’ in revenue in just one year.
Before his venture with Smile Wide, Dr. Badii had tremendous success as the Founder, President & CEO of two other companies – California Kid’s Dental and Badii Orthodontics. He ventured into entrepreneurialism right out of orthodontic residency and immediately set a standard for oral health care in Southern California. Dr. Badii grew each diverse practice to multi-million-dollar revenue streams in a few short years. In 2014, he started Smile Wide, which acquired both companies and added to their expansion opportunities.
Dr. Badii has been recognized as an industry leader with contributions to various speaking engagements, presentations, and professional/research publications. He is an active member in a wide range of respected National and local organizations, including those generally reserved solely for clinicals, educators, managers, and business executives. He earned both his MDS and Orthodontic Certification from the University of Connecticut and DDS from University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Dr. Badii is a Board Certified Orthodontist and licensed professional in the State of California. Due to successful completion of a rare combination of prestigious credentials – including licensure certifications through the Dental Board of California (DBCA), the Western Region Examining Board (WREB), and Northeast Regional Board (NERB) – he is also eligible to receive immediate licensure in 48 U.S. states. Other Advanced trainings and certifications include Elite Temporary Anchorage Devices training, Invisalign certifications, and Incognito certification.
On a personal not, Dr. Badii attended two undergraduate universities via full athletic scholarships. He’s one of few individuals who had the opportunity to compete in major NCAA competition in 3 different varsity sports: football, soccer, and track. He is happily married with 3 children while currently residing in Southern California. In his free time, Dr. Badii enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, being active outdoors, and reading. Dr. Badii finds importance in demonstrating solid values and morals, and he has always pursued excellence in his personal and professional life.
